Process of getting a tummy tuck in Maryland
Through your consultation with the surgeons at Bruno|Brown Plastic Surgery, we will determine if you are a good candidate for a tummy tuck, as well as what kind of tummy tuck would be most appropriate for you. The procedure itself will generally take 2-3 hours, depending on the procedure chosen to fit your needs. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia. In the surgery, an incision is made above the pubic bone and is extended depending on the range of the tummy tuck. The excess skin is removed and the upper abdominal skin and remaining skin are brought together and sutured. The incisions are fully closed with several suture layers and adhesive. The recovery process is around 6 weeks, with a slow progression into regular activity. Within the first two weeks, there is likely to still be pain and rest is strongly advised. The patient can slowly start to incorporate activities into their routine in the following weeks with the doctor’s permission.
